What's up for 2005

After negotiating with several teams, Chris Peris signed a deal to ride AMA 600 Supersport and Formula Extreme for the Topline Printing race team. The 18-year old Canadian will hang the #10 he earned in '04 on a pair of Yamaha R6s, a major switch from the Suzuki GSX-R600 on which he finished tenth in the AMA series, and won a round of the Canadian Supersport championship.

Peris rode a Topline Racing Honda CBR600RR in '03, switched to the Valvoline Suzuki team a year later, and is now back with Topline. "The Valvoline Suzuki effort went well last year," Peris said, "and it was great to get the experience with a top team. I really want to thank the whole team for such a great year, and Michelin for the support." Peris finished in the top ten several times, with his best effort a seventh at Mid-Ohio.

Peris looks forward to the challenge of two classes at every national. "I missed riding in two classes in '04. I like the challenge and also the increased track time," Peris stated. The team also plans to race several non-conflicting Canadian nationals, as Peris did this year.

The switch to Yamaha's potent R6 also brings a smile to Chris' face. "The Yamaha feels small and light, very thin," the ex-125 champion says. "I rode against the R6 all year and I can see how well they work. I'm looking forward to getting my bikes and should have them by Christmas, that's a pretty good present!"

Topline will receive help from Yamaha Canada, Dunlop Tires, Hindle Pipes, Shark helmets, Traxxion Dynamics, Vass Performance, Nick Ienatsch, Flexi-Glass, , Graves Motorsport, Pitbull stands, Dynojet, Vesrah brakes, Penske shocks, Over the Top.
